I understand that ... ( 1 month ago by MountainDeW06)
I understand that good people do good deeds in Masonry. I wonder why other secret societies such as skull and bones and others have been connected to the Masons in conspiracy theories. I have had family members in the Masons and I would hope that they were good people and not hellbent on global domination like the NWO people say. All I can say is I wish these other secret organizations like the Bohemian Club would make open statements and contribute to society like the Masons.
I accidentally ... ( 1 month ago by werstler)
I accidentally removed a comment which asked whether or not people who practiced Taoism, Hinduism, or other similar religions can be Masons. In short, polytheistic religions are excluded as a belief in a singular diety is required.
Meeting with ... ( 1 month ago by werstler)
Meeting with brethren at a local lodge would be far better than just joining to answer questions. I don't think one should join something they aren't comfortable with in the first place.

No, you cannot become a Mason without a firm belief in a supreme being.
Your grandfather is ... ( 1 month ago by werstler)
Your grandfather is entitled to his freedom of speech, I suppose. If you're looking for the grips and passes, then he's not supposed to share them. Even school committees go into secret "executive" sessions, though they're likely not evil. Perhaps if you asked him genuine questions rather than accusatory ones?

This may vary by jurisdiction. I believe the you may have to be 21 in many jurisdictions, though some, such as Massachusetts, allow for men as young as 18 to become members.

If you violate your obligation, you will generally be subject to removal from the Craft. And, no, there are no secret squirrels, sheep, parrots, mice, or other creatures to mention. If there were, they'd be secret.

Werstler :an agnostic does not mean that you don't believe in a supreme being,it simply is the belief that nothing is known OR can be known
about such a being. Or at least that's what the dictionary says, but their is still belief of a supreme being .

I agree, but you must have a belief in A singular supreme being; not in the concept of a potential supreme being. There is a difference. Though I appreciate your position.

It's not at all ... ( 1 week ago by AlbionLostAndFound)
It's not at all clear that Hindus or Taoists should be excluded. In Hinduism there is one supremem being - Brahma as the Upanishads make clear. In Taoism the Tao is the supreme ultimate. For those reasons I would have no trouble proposing members of either religion, and know that we have had a number of such brethren in the UK.
Only a portion of ... ( 6 days ago by werstler)
Only a portion of the founding fathers were Masons. The pyramid design was actually presented by a NON-MASON. It's been documented and presented by the History Channel on numerous occasions.
